5 Ways to Wear Leopard Prints this fall

As the weather changes and the leaves take on their warm, earthy hues, so, too, do the colors of the fashion world; out are lime greens, hot pinks, and aquamarines of summertime. Instead, burnt oranges and browns are fall fashionista’s bread and butter. Along with this comes the resurgence of animal prints that emulate these tones, such as the ever-gorgeous leopard print.

Today, we’re going to be discussing some of the different ways you can style your leopard print garments this fall. With our tips, you’ll be turning heads all season long!

Leopard and Denim

Denim is already a fairly neutral fabric; you can wear a good set of blue jeans with practically anything. Both leopard and denim come in a variety of colors, and while they can absolutely be mixed and matched, our personal preference is for the ever-effective brown leopard and blue denim combination.

Brown and blue are complementary colors, so it’s really no wonder that the warm tones of most leopard prints pair so nicely with blue denim. This leopard print sequin top would take a pair of denim jeans to the next level of style.

Leopard and Leather

Featuring leopard print and a ruffle trim, we'll be wearing ours with a roll neck or tee and a leather jacket for a chic day time look or with a cami and heels for drinks in the evening. Faux leather puts a real emphasis on the fierce side of leopard print. If you want to rock the cool, rock n’ roll version of leopard print, a good faux leather jacket or even faux leather pants are just what you need. This stylish leopard skirt would pair nicely with a black leather jacket and a cute top.

You can also use leather more sparingly, as an accessory. Use a faux leather bow or belt to add to your super stylish vibe.

As an Accent or Accessory

Leopard prints don’t always have to be at the center of everything. Sometimes, they work best as accents or accessories. This might mean that the leopard print is a trim on your dress, or is only used minimally on your blouse. However, the leopard print doesn’t have to come with the clothing. Sometimes, a little outside help is in order.

This leopard print bag is a small accessory that can have a big impact on the overall message your outfit sends. It’s cute, it’s fierce, it’s the perfect way to add a little intrigue to a simple ensemble.

Leopard Bottoms

Leopard is about as busy as a print can get, and busy prints are almost always used in tops and outerwear before they’re even considered for shorts, skirts, leggings, and the like. This mostly comes from the ease with which one can style patterned bottoms with other pieces; that is to say, it can be quite difficult. However, leopard’s more neutral tones make this a much simpler undertaking, and the results can be super fierce.

So, next time you’re going out and about, don’t shy away from styling leopard print pants with a white top and a solid colored cardigan. Or, ditch the browns and beiges for a gray take on the print, and wear a black blouse with a gray leopard print skirt.

As Outerwear

Leopard outerwear is a classic, but it doesn’t have to come in the form of a bulky fur coat. It’s just as effective as a print on a cardigan, poncho, or kimono, and you won’t be sweating up a storm in the cool – but not yet freezing – fall weather.

Going out with friends in a cute blouse and jeans? All you need to complete the look is this leopard print kimono. It will provide a layer in the brisk fall air, but it’s also breathable enough to keep you cool indoors.
